About

Aikido (the Japanese martial art based on redirecting an attacker’s energy) is an important part of my life. I started practicing this nearly infinite martial art when I was in my teens, and I’ve been teaching it for over 20 years. Over the years, I’ve had the good fortune to see a lot of the world through the lens of Aikido and martial arts practice in general as I assisted my teachers with seminars in several countries and studied and traveled to Japan ten times.

Just as my teachers shared so much with me, it’s important to me that I share with my students and others interested in martial arts, Aikido, and Japanese culture. With this blog, I look forward to sharing thoughts on these topics from the perspective of an Aikido instructor, and I welcome your ideas, comments, book reviews, seminar reports, and questions.
